دوربین حرارتی testo 885 با لنز super-telephoto تستو را قادر می سازد ابزاری مناسب برای انجام گرماسنجی از فواصل دور را ارائه دهد. بنابراین این دستگاه به صورت ویژه برای موارد زیر پیشنهاد می شود:
- بازرسی خطوط فشار قوی (حتی کوچکترین اتصالات را می‌توان از فاصله زیاد بررسی کرد)
- مکان یابی نقاط داغ در پارک های خورشیدی (به عنوان مثال برای شناسایی سلول‌های معیوب)
- تشخیص بی‌نظمی در کارخانه‌های بزرگ صنعتی (به عنوان مثال پالایشگاه‌ها)
